Have a 94 z, 3500 converter 4.10 gears some weight reduction. Rebuilt the trans after it broke the sprag from the first rebuild. Seems like 3rd gear sometimes goes in right but sometimes you have to let off it then hit it again. It will hit the limiter if you dont. I had the same problem with the stock converter as well before the sprag broke. It was fine the first rebuild then seemed like it ...
If adding fluid previously corrected it then likley it was slipping before, The damage was done and has continued to deteriorate, I agree the 3-4 set is toast and you do need a rebuild

First and foremost, I would like to apologize to all of you proud camaro owners who are waiting on this "bulletproof" 4L60E. As a legitimate business owner of a reputible transmission company, it deeply disturbs me to hear that customers are waiting nearly a year for their product. Obviously, this is a GREAT WEBSITE for camaro lovers everywhere. However, their are some questionable business ...
I'm sorry I didn't see this thread until now.
Frank has always been up front about the fact that life is giving him a hard time lately and that he just doesn't have the time to solve all of the problems he's facing. Why add to his troubles? He's a good guy.
Why not spend the money you would spend on an attorney on a courier service to go get your transmission and bring it to you?
I apologize to any users or admins that got the impression I was on this site for the purpose of promoting my own business. In no way did I want to steer attention away from the real issue. I chose to speak up for the sole purpose of helping others. It bothers me to see others being taken advantage of. I could care less if I saw a red cent from this site. The truth is that Americans have to ...

After reading pages and pages of old posts it seems that people think that play on the "output shaft", as people call it,is perfectly normal.
Is this true?
Regards,Mark.
Doesn't seem to be rpm related, sounds like a big heavy lump of metal is tapping the underside of the car,can be felt through the transmission tunnel.
Knock occurs whilst driving on uneven road surfaces also.Seems to subside if you press the clutch pedal in whilst it's occuring, almost sure the cause is something that rotates.Exhaust is solid, transmission itself feels solid, have bounced up and ...
Have you checked the fluid level in the clutch reservoir? Have you tried bleeding the system to insure there is no air in the line? Have you inspected the master cylinder and slave cylinder for leakage?
Oh ok ..makes more sense now.So is the gold washer you speak of , just limiting the 4th servo's travel? I didnt even think of the band stretching a little either.Well hopefully this is the last tranny problem i will have for a while. Thanks for your help.

Hey Creative how are the street manners of the 6 puck, your setup is very similar to mine, my car is a dd with occasional test in tune nights at the track. I also plan on running up to a 200 shot.
did some research and found alot of people having problems with the clutch fork hitting the pressure plate with the same results that mine is doing with the grinding real bad with the clutch pedal to the floor. so i was gonna check that out today and told my friend about it last night whos shop the car is in right now and he woke me up at 6am this morning telling me that was the problem and that he grinded a quarter inch off the fork for...

Got the trans back this afternoon and it looks great. Unfortunately it still cost me a lot to get it repaired. The valve body was changed from a manual valve body to an Auto so I am waiting on a TV Cable and throttle bracket off of a 93 before I can put it back in. I was tuning a 100 HP Shot of juice when the trans let go. I will likely stick with the 100 shot for now.
and who said anything about a 1/4" bushing? The collar would probably be in the neighborhood of 2.5-3 inches on each side, for a total of 5-6". I agree about the trussing as well. Not as big a deal as you're making it sound. But there does need to be some added reinforcement for the joined axle tubes. Something I had planned on doing anyway.
