Hello Guys, my name is Jamie I just found this forum, and I could really do with some help.
Introduction........
I am 36 have two kids under 6 and I run my own business, since having kids looking after myself has taken a back seat, spending time working away from home meant lots of beer, lots of sh!t take away and very little exercise.
I have now reached a point ...
You answered your own question mate. Push, Pull, Legs.
4/5 exercises a day, 4 sets of 8 reps per exercise should be easily do-able in 1hour.
Alternatively you could try a split like below;
Legs/shoulders
Back/Bi's
Chest/Tri's
But personally if i could only get 3 workouts in, i'd go for push/pull/legs.
Make sure you get the heavy compounds in too. Push day start with flat ...
Hi mate, the first thing to do is set your first "goals" fat loss would probably be your best bet first, then a clean bulk, check the diet section for this.
For fat loss, id advise as above a strict diet, and pre breakfast cardio say 45mins 3 times per week.
At the same time id look into ripptoes starting strength, this would be ideal for 3 times per week. Alternativly a 3 day split of ...

Three sessions a week of 1 hour is plenty to make some good progress so don't panic on that front.
I would have a think about what you want to achieve though. If it is basically just to loose a bit of weight, perhaps have a think about some cardio. Also, a big part of loosing weight, hate to say it, is diet. IMO it is just as important as what you do in the gym whn it comes to weight loss....
Maybe if your goals are slimming down first you might want to try some full body workouts 3 times a week with cardio at the end mate.
Say do 2 exercises for legs, back and chest and 1 for shoulders arms but keep it intense then do some HIT cardio at the end.Say do 15 mins on the cross trainer or bike,1 min at your 50% max then 1 min at your 80% max,and repeat, build it up as you get fitter....
Thanks for the advice Stavmangr, I must admit I prefered the sound of push pull legs to a full body workout primarily because its less stations to use, my gym is well equipped and cheap but the downside is its well busy in the evenings, so your often waiting for stuff. the quiet gym up the road is £110 a month! No wonder its empty. Still I will try it and see.

Do a full body workout to wake up your muscles for the next 2-3 months, rest 30 sec between sets to keep your intensity high and help you burn some fat, after this period change to a split routine. Try always to keep a perfect form during the execution of the exercises to avoid injuries and thats your goal at this time. WORKOUT 3 DAYS A WEEK sets/reps 3x12-15 chest incline bar press back bent over row legs squat or leg press shoulders military...
