Thread: 36 15.50's on an HD?

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Chevbowtie_22
Well I'm back in the market again for a lift now that I no longer have the Denali. I want to run some 36 15.50's again on this Duramax like I had on my blue truck. My blue truck was a 1500 w/ a 6" Rough Country lift, a 3" body lift, and cutouts. I easily cleared 36 15.50's. I WILL be running cutouts on this truck again but my question is can I get away with just a 6" lift this time? I ...

Here is slinden's duramax, 7" Pro Comp 2" Keys and 20x10's with 37x13.5's... Off topic, when did you move out of MN?

that truck is the first truck that i have seen that cutouts looked good on. That truck looks great Alan

I think about 2-3 months ago. I think it was about the first week in August. So far its been the best decision I've made in a long time. That pro comp lift is the bracket kit and not the new knuckle kit right? IIRC Twotone said he was able to stuff 37 13.50's under his HD with just the 6" Tough Country kit. He added cutouts later for a little extra room. Its the 15.50" width of the ...

Its too bad the kid that owns it now is beating it to death. I swear I will never sell a truck locally again just to see it slowly die a slow death by someone ...

Hmm. These are a couple pics I found on dieselplace.com of a 6" Tuff Country kit, cutouts, and 38 14.50's. He claims he doesnt rub at all on flat ground but does a little on inclines with the wheel turned turned all the way. I'm really liking this setup. Maybe 38's aren't neccessarily out of the question . . .

Looks like some serious front bumper trimming, but still a sweet truck!!!

^^^hey that my truck! thanks for whoring her out. OP I was considering doing 36x15.50 b4 I got my 37's. the only thing that stoped me was that the micky's were only a D rating. I tow to much and to heavy for D so I went with the toyo's with the E rating I wanted.

Chevbowtie_22 replied 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I never thought about the D rating. I'll deffinetly need to keep that in mind but I dont think its going to be a huge concern. In all honesty I only load this truck down heavy once or twice every couple of weeks. Most of my tile jobs only require a pallet or two at most.

Here is one of the new truck. Its an old pic but it will work. I've already gotten rid of the topper and the mudflaps. The mud flaps did rub some paint off the flares but it won't matter once the cut outs go on. The window tint will be going on in a week or so. The door and tailgate handles will also be painted soon.

you shouldnt have any trouble fitting them with a 6" and cutouts. most hd guys with full 6" kits cranked up fit 37s with minor trimming. which kit are you considering?

Alan, Long time no see! What happened to the Denali?? I was sad when you let go of the blue beast... Any pics of the new truck? I have 37x13.5x20s on my silverado now. She's grown since the old days of chevytruckworld. I wish I could get a couple more inches for the 38x15.5s...but there is no help without an SFA swap. Are you gonna put a LOUD horn on that truck?? If so PM me. I'm the sales manager at hornblasters.com I say go with...
