Thread: 351w stroker kit

I was wondering if anyone has run a 435 stroker kit in a 351w or knows of anyone that has? I am thinking of building one for my pulling truck but dont know of any hp numbers. Also will this motor pull vaccum? I want to keep with the w because it is already set up for it with solid motor mounts and i have a mild built one that I could put back in if this one would blow up just ...

a 351 stroker will produce about 430 to 515 hp on average it all depends on the head work that is done as well as the pistons used and if the crank is balanced and ground

Thanks for the information, it at least gives me and idea on what the hp numbers can be.

my engine builder doesn't recommend going that far on a stock windsor block to much needs to be taken out for the crank to clear he is putting a 427 stroker together with my roush heads he has numbers of 650 to 700hp and 525tq

Yeah - 427 is the biggest you can go on a stock W block. 393 is VERY cost affective...

Thanks for the additonal information the 427 is the way that I am looking at going now. That or building up a 400m like what i have in my mud truck. But I cant find really any stroker kits for a 400m. I have a windsor block and 400m to. So thats why im looking at those motors
