Thread: 32V Navigator motor?

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by red97150
Ok question looking to upgrade the 4.6 in my 150. Have a chance to pickup a 32v navigator motor complete and has 100,000 on it. Will it bolt in the 97? And what electrical issues will I be dealing with? Register today or sign-in to remove these ads! document.write(' ');

yup. it'll bolt right in, do you have a donor? it'll make the swap much easier.

You'll have to get it tuned if you don't have the PCM from the Gator.

Ok it will bolt in good. I can handle having to tune it or tuning it myself. Same pcm harness as the 4.6? And Does the Navi have variable VVT? Thanks for the response. Thinking I can get it for 6-800. I asume I'll need a new torque converter and Headers and exhaust. Does anyone know of a way to tune the motor with a DIY program I have tuned my other vehicle and am comfident in my abilities.

Ok do I understand correctly that I can just adapt my harness to run the cops? And I would assume that I can just lengthen then connections that don't fit.

What year is the navi motor? The early ones came with coil packs like your 4.6 and not COPS. I did the swap in my 02 Expy from 4.6 to a 04 Navi but they both had COPS, so the wiring was easy. Just had to lengthen a couple of things. If the Navi motor you can get uses coils like yours then it is easy, you would use your 4.6 harness(and lengthen a couple of sensor wires) and use your coils with a ...

He would have to use his 4.6 harness and coils. A set of 93/94 Mark vii valve covers and plug wires would make it work. 98 5.4 16v SOHC 99-04 5.4 ...
