Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday! Step right up! SEE... whoever the hell is on the boat (even I have been spoiled for this, sadly. Not as angry about being spoiled as I was about the killing-Ana-off spoiler though). SEE... finale where, once more, the castaways fail to tell each other important details. SEE... Josh Holloway, once more, without a whole lot of clothes (and ...
You won't have to watch the excruciating last minutes of Freddy. They're rerunning Lost: Reckoning. How pathetic is it that they're rerunning a clip show they showed a month ago? And by the way, I believe Sayid will be shirtless also. In case anyone wasn't planning on tuning in for shirtless Sawyer alone.
THE FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL... WILL CONTINUE... FOR ON THIS ISLAND... THERE ARE SURVIVORS... AND THERE ARE OTHERS. (I forgot how much I hate the captain-obvious voiceovers in recaps.)
1st Break: Thank you, Lost writers, for shirtless Sawyer and Sayid, but yet no shirtless Jack. Thank you, thank you, thank you. OMG IT'S DESMOND (would have been an effective shock had I not been spoiled/the trailers not given it away.) Is it a trap? The three guys who are physically a threat, save Jin and Eko, are now on that boat... 2d Break: Jesus Christ, Jack, ...
/shallow fan girl: Shirtless Sawyer and Sayid = \end shallow fan girl\ Another plus = no man boobs!! I was disappointed by Hurley's reaction (or lack thereof) when he found out Michael had offed Libby. Maybe it's a good thing he didn't have a gun after all. I found the trek to be rather boring. P. S. Thanks Jack(ass), you're a great leader. "I wouldn't have brought you out ...
Did we really have a two-hour flashback devoted to Desmond so he could get atomized at the end? Because if he lived through that, I'm not buying it. Apparently getting a flashback now means death or departure from Lost. Here's hoping Jack's up first next season!
Does anyone believe that both Locke and Eko died in the hatch explosion? And was anyone from the beach, like, going to check?...
Hey, you gotta have standards. But does Jack--and his man-boobs--count in that total?
No, it does not. It must include some combination of any two of the following: Sayid, Sawyer, Jin, or Eko. And what a glorious opening: they provided the required combination.
2d Break: Jesus Christ, Jack, listen to Sayid. He knows what he's talking about.
Yes...and no. Turns out his plan didn't exactly work. Maybe a better plan would have been for Sayid to confront Michael BEFORE trekking out there with only four people and Sayid on a boat. 'Cause it didn't take much for Michael to break even with Jack confronting him. [...

Actually, Sayid's plan was a pretty terrible one. Why assume that Michael's telling the truth about the Others' camp on the beach? Why assume that you can arrange a rendezvous, even with the helpful black smoke, over unfamiliar territory and at an undetermined time with no means of communication? The Others would see the smoke too, yes? And then have a good chance to ambush our two groups of Losties separately. A better plan:...
The Claire/Charlie kiss is receiving attention at a couple of fan sites and even garnered the dismay of Ausiello. While some of the fan attention seems to be nothing more than ship issues, I find myself agreeing that the fireside scene was forced and unrealistic. I could care less about the romantic issues, but Claire's actions seemed out-of-character and really just felt like sloppy writing....

The morning here at the office was devoted to discussing this episode, although I doubt if it was with the official blessing of management. I doubt that it matters but it seemed to be about a 50 50 split over the the best finale evah and meh. After all, tv is not a democracy in the mileage department. I fell into the meh camp. Despite the shirtlessness. Maybe because it was...
