Thread: 2.0 / 2.3 / 2.4 info

I have a 2.3 06 Aerio and knew the engine (J23A) was based off the 2.0 (J20A). Suzuki increased the bore size from 82mm to 90. I started investigating the new 2.4 (J24B) engine in the Kizashi, I found out Suzuki once again increased the bore to 92mm. I also discovered the J engines are open deck design which made the increases easy. The 2.4 does have variable valve timing where the 2.0 & 2.3 do ...

i have been looking into the j24b for sometime now too. I have been curious about the VVT system and parts that could be swappable. The good news is that it looks the coils and some of the internals are. If you want to bore the 2.3l i know its possible and the pistons should swap along with the rods. yet until someone pulls the engine we won't know. as for the block being open deck that is a box...

I have a 2004 2.3 aerio sx fwd. it has a sort of knock. i was goin to replace the engine all together. is there anyone that has some ideas that i could do to make it a little more reliable and powerful. such as forged pistons ect.

Never heard of 2.3 aerio's only 2.0 and 2.4 are out there.
