i hear this new gti is amazing, tho very similar to the last gen this one is suposed to be a blast to drive. i saw on the GTI forums this car put down great numbers on a dyno, actually unreal numbers, 199, 200, and 201 on consecutive runs, increadible numbers considering its rated at 200. the tq curve was very flat and between 205 and 207! for a 3150lb car this thing must ride like a bmw, also the last car and driver review the car held the...

Cool car indeed... but I am waiting out on the GTD model As for the unchanged engine since 07, gotta love how magazines are not informed. 09 GTi got the new timing chain operated motor vs the old timing belt one. Engine isn't really the same but an evolution of the TSi motor. Haven't driven any of the MKVI yet, but MKVs have been very reliable cars.

sounds like they are using the same system on the z06's exhaust. but the power levels are just poor. the ms3, cobalt ss would rape this thing hard.

I like this car I know 210hp is nothing to write home about but it looks sweet and the DSG tranny is nice. It gets good mileage too. Edit: Oh crap they lowered the HP! That's lame..
