The wait for the sixth-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI is over as the German market launch of the hot hatch will begin in a few days with the rest of Europe following just after Easter at the end of April. North America and Asia will follow in late summer. As you can see in our mega gallery after the jump, nothing has changed compared to the 2008 Paris ...
I like those wheels, and the Plaid seats (yes I know it's "tartan"). but the front lower grille makes me think STi. Which looks weird on a VW. To be fair it looks weird on a Subie as well.
Good looking. Anyone know if it got any fatter/heavier?
I agree with the horrible wheels comments but thats the first thing to go anyways!
Can't get wait to see what the GTI-R will look like!
God they still don't get over that awful grandpa seat fabric.

You probably will not see an interior approaching this quality in an Impreza for maybe another 2 or 3 generations
Very nice indeed!
I'd just love to have the kind of seats and steering wheels, that they use! USDM Subie wheels aren't too bad, especially lately with some Momo offerings, but that sucker in the VW is just very sweet. And the seats are marvelous.
cheap speed the MS3 would rape the GTI. Its funny how these magazines focus so much in track testing when only like 5% of the people who buy em track em. If I'm looking for cheap SPEED I would get an MS3 hands down, its not even close! The GTI R will be the solution to everything I don't like about the GTI! except for the price!

In any case, I don't mean to anger the resident VW apologists, as I stated in the past my...
NO doubt, I am trying to make myself keep my MS3 and pay it off, so I can get into a 2 year old 4 door M3. May as well get a car perfect right out of the box.
Quote: Still fun after all these years, the GTI is one of the best examples of getting more than what you pay for. For many of us, the GTI is the answer to the question If you had to have one car that would do everything-- and you had to pay for it yourself--which one would it be? The GTI answers the practicality question, with its available four doors, folding rear seats, and hatchback design. It also answers the fuel-economy question by...

I think there is a very good reason to believe that currently German made...

I get the special order part, but last I checked these German near-luxo cars come with reasonable level of equipment. Which missing standard equipment would...
