Thread: 2010 Event

Started 1 month ago by hannah
Ok, here's a thought that the 2 T's were thinking of setting up for next yr. 24 names in a box, $50 buy in if not $60 buy in. Event would last over a time of maybe 4 weeks, no hdcp's, straight up so make sure you think you have some game to play someone like maybe a 3 hdcp. 4 names are drawn and will go out and play 18 holes and then another 4 names are drawn and then go out the next next...

Oh well you know I'm in. I think this would be all kinds of fun....and playing for that amount of cash in the end would definitely up the stakes I'm sure there'll be enough interest to make it happen

Just putting it out there... but I think if this took into account HDCP then you would have a lot more interest. I understand not wanting to use HDCP, but why would an 8 HDCP player think about putting his name into a hat with a scratch or better golfer... you might aswell give him the money... LOL Maybe limit the HDCP to 10 to make it more competative, giving a guy a few strokes in ...

HDCP'ing events to a limit opens the door for b!tching, moaning, whining and complaining...trust me. I say either make it an open event to all skill levels regardless of HDCP, or make it a private event. Limiting the players simply because of HDCP for an event as small as this, wouldn't be beneficial. Just my .00000000002

Another way if you do not want to hdcp, is the higher your hdcp is the less you have to pay, ie- + to 5, $50 - 6 to 10, $30 - 11 and up $20 or something along those lines, this is the way it is done in some 9 ball tournaments I play, it keeps a lot of people playing that probably would stay away.

Another option would be make it a matchplay event. If I (8 hdcp) had to play cobbie_90 (+3 hdcp) in a stroke play event and I make a double or triple i am officially screwed. In a matchplay I just lost a hole and we move on.

Pingnut replied 1 month ago
Are you guys thinking stroke play or match play? Either way - I'm down like Charlie Brown.. Just try to keep things on the West side of the 404. I don't like having to travel to the wrong side of the planet.

I like the idea of Match Play...every hole is a different story.

pmjunior replied 1 month ago
Im in. anything along the same idea is a great thing for next season. put a little wager on the matches and its icing on the cake
