The 250SX is pretty much the same as the 250ES, so I can talk here. I personally like the 250SX over my dads 200ES.. they have much more power and the reverse is a snap. Not to mention the SX is suspended and the 250SX/ES look so much cooler than the 200ES.

i know i probably have a bias opinion but for my needs i go for the 200ES. i had a shot at either the 250 or the 200 but i wanted the 200. i dont do trail riding (much) or jumping so i dont need suspension. i pull loads, i mudbog, i do creek crossing, etc. sure ill give you the fact that for speed or trail riding the 250 is king but thats not my style anyways. i want a machine that will float, ...

I know it is a old thread but if i was gonna get a hardtail no suspension bike that was fairly quick I would probabky go with the 86 200s Same thing just no electric start and lighter. Not sure about gearing but i know they run pretty descent still have a few of them.

but in most cases you can't touch a 250es for under 600, my 200es was 300

i have both and for pulling and mudding the 200es is the best and for trail,jump the 250es is the best, and both goes at the same speed

I do sort of prefer a 250 BR, but I do like the chain drive 200e's and 200m's, and they would be my favorite if they had reverse.
