Anybody?..... .anybody??......
...Bueller?
I heard 1 of 9 passed 4.dan (and I saw on Facebook that Summerlin Walker passed 4.dan... (Congrats, dude!)...)
I know 2 of our people passed 3.dan
I know 1 of our people placed 3rd in women's division
I know GKA took first in Teams...
..and I heard Jay Lane (Charlotte) took 2nd place in 3.dan+ division
..but that's all I've ...
Haven't gotten official results yet but I know that from Triangle D. Castrilli passed his nidan and Z. Cox passed his ikkyu. The TKI 'A' team placed third in the team comp.
I wasn't able to make it up there so I didn't get to test for sandan as I had planned. Glad to hear the Memphis people passed.
Oh, and I will post the official results on the SEUSKF web page once they get sent to me.
Seng-Soo Kim (sp) took first in mudansha, and our own Sanghun Chung took 2nd. Charlotte's A team took 2nd place teams to George Kendo Alliance A (and it was a pretty close match too, very exciting). Also, Michael Jackson (shido washinkan, formerly VT) passed his shodan test.
Actually it was Georgia Kendo Association A team that took first.
And I think it was Tomoya Tanaka sensei from that same dojo that won the 3dan+ division but I could be confusing him with the other Tanaka sensei.
Charlotte's dojo looked good, they certainly should be proud. This was my 2nd tournament and although I didn't do well, I enjoyed it. I also received some encouraging advice ...
I had a great time meeting new friends as well as meeting old friends for the first time. I got to meet Ahmed, Turbo, Stroud sensei, and few other KW lurkers. And as always hanging with Sam80 is a blast.
