Not sure why Illinois is on the outside looking in for the initial Top 25 you posted up. Talent wise they are certainly there and Zook has proved he can coach them up. I'd put them in there over FSU, ND, UNC, Nebraska.

I hope this is the year that Juice finds some consistency. I was watching the Illinois/OSU game from 2 years ago and he was doing work even though he didn't throw for a lot of yards. And they have ?'s on defense. And I agree Shannon, I don't see why those teams are so high. Losing Tate and Nicks is going to be a blow to that UNC offense. Maybe Droungs (Sp?) and Houston are ready ...

spurned Nebraska? Nebraska was after Bo Pellini from the jump. it was Pelini or Gil's job from the outset and from what I remember Washington was after Leach and never even interviewed Kelly ... However Both Kelly and Patterson ajumped at the Tennessee job. both actively pursued it and both were finalists. I understand yall want yall coaches to stay at yall smaller schools but dont be naive

My sources tell me that Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin are in the driver's seat but Alabama's OC Jim McElwain is a strong candidate too. It could very well come down to which team loses the SEC game figuring that coach would leave immediately for Louisville whereas the winning coach would want to stay through the bowl game.

Brian Kelly spurned Nebraska and Washington last year thats news to me i could of swore both of them schools had there eyes on the head coachs they got True, but every coach isn't looking for the first big name job to open up so that they can bolt to the next destination thats true but there is a difference in Peterson turning down Virgina and turning down OU. Like Dirk has said many times on here these guys are in a space they can pick...

TCU can add all the practice facilities they want, but they'll never be Texas or Oklahoma... Gary Patterson can say he's happy there, and I'm sure he is, but every coach in the country has their eyes on bigger and better things... Nobody's dream job is to coach with a glass ceiling over their heads and play in front of crowds of 30000 or less week in and out...

these programs where these coaches are at have been built up because of them. Those jobs have turned into good jobs under their watch. It's like calipari going to UK...there is a bigger picture. The "they have everything they need" holds little weight when they've done it all themselves.
