I hope it is OK I posted this here, but I figured more HDT owners would see it here and might know of guys with HDT's they might trade. Sorry in advance if it isn't ok, thanks...Jason 2005 Dodge SLT Larmie Dually Quad Cab Long Bed built for towing, Full Race DTT Automatic Transmission($7,300), MPI Twins with all custom 304 Stainless pipes and 5" 304 stainless exhaust, New stock Billet ...

Yea very nice! Mine would kill me over another $500 payment. 3rd gen dually is on my sometime to do list though. Not knocking old Volvo's or anybodies truck here, but it's gotta be kind of hard stepping out of all that and into your ol WIA isn't it?
Thanks for the comments, yes I really like this truck, but want to either invest money in the WIA or buy a newer HDT. If anyone was interested in a trade for a nice HDT I would throw the WIA in with the Dodge as well. I wish I would have learned about the HDT's more before I invested so much into the Dodge, it is a great truck with plenty of ability, it is just my wife and I have decided ...
Dave, Dave! Keep the greed under control! I agree about the older truck. Jason and Aly stopped by my place a few nights ago to look at my WIA. A very nice young couple. They only live about 30m from me here in IL. The neat thing is he seems to have both the capability and desire to turn out something truly special (as per truck above!) Keep an eye on this one, I forsee interesting...
Your WIA must be really rough to walk away from it For the money you will likely spend on a newer HDT, you can have a nice toter coach body built onto the back of that WIA and probably get a fair amount of work done to the driveline. Long term on the WIA verses a VN series seems an easy choice, far fewer things to go wrong in the older truck, less electronics and the parts are component...
QUOTE (Dave K. @ Sep 8 2009, 08:17 PM) Jason, If you truely possess skills to do this, then I would dump the Dodge and hold on to what you have. depending on what you need, I may even have parts for your WIA to fix cosmetic things wrong with it. There is NO way I would give up that tractor with that nice low top roof and short length sleeper cab. I'd build a Class C conversion over it with a RV style overhead bunk above...
With an inframe, rebuilt tranny and 400,000 miles, you have a better truck in that WIA than many here with VN's The gear master is a good learning aid from those I've met or talked to with them. I'd see about sending your mrs to a trucking school for a few weeks, or let Pipeline ride shotgun and shift for her If you have time this fall after I get settled into Shreveport, I'd like to get with you on this more, hopefully in...
