The price sounds good. What is the warranty? Have you discussed the option of adding a Magnefine filter or cooler? This would be an ideal time to install them. Both would add maybe another $100.

Did you ask America Honda or a Honda dealer what Honda could do for you at 162K? If you had a 2002-2004 Odyssey I would say forget it but the 1999-2001 did have an Extended Warranty to 109,000 miles. Maybe they may prorate it from that mileage limit for you? You never know if you don't ask. Although you're quote of $1,987 is good.

The chances of Honda doing anything (unless purchased from them) are slim to non-existent. As I have posted elsewhere, I was just out of time limit, always took it to dealer for service, and the best they would do would've left me $2000 out of pocket. Have the independent do it.
