Thread: 2000+ Heater Trouble

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by benzml350
All of a sudden I have no heat in my 2003. The AAC controls appear to work and the blower motor responds appropriately but I can't redirect any airflow. I removed the drivers footwell cover and glovebox and see no motion on any of the actuators no matter what I do with the controls. The early cars are discussed extensively here but I'm not sure all that applies. It appears 2000+ have all the ...

One thing that all computers want is clean stable power supply. AGM from Interstate MTP-H8A is good deal. 30 months free replacement, 85 months prorated. For manual get CD from MB dealer it is around $100. Part number T-2700-163-05.

Interesting TSB. Unfortunately mine is not temporary. Still it means I may be on the right track. I'll check AAC part number and certainly find out what part number the junkyard has. Not much point in paying good money for suspect parts. Also, it seems like a quick check of the data line might be worth the effort. I actually hope it's the AAC since it's the easiest to change. The 1.5 total ...

I struck out at the dealer with manuals/schematics. They don't stock it and he didn't seem interested in getting me any so I ordered some ebay specials. I probably won't have them for a least another another week though and I want to get this thing on the road. With my trusty Fluke, I believe I have traced my heater troubles to the auxiliary coolant pump. It appears one of the BTS 621 L1 dual channel power switch devices drives...

Good morning, just to end/close the issue. Besides all the burned items (fan + pump+relays) there was also a burned .... transistor (i believe it's the right word in English). This transistor is circled in red. The transistor is controlled by another circled in blue. The one in red cost in US about 10 $. Hope the blue on works, testing it Wednesday/Thursday (after soldering the red one in place). br, Timo

Up to production 09/2002 ebox fan, auxiliary pump and a/c compressor were controlled by AAM. Why MB decided to move those functions to ACC and drive them without relay/fuse protection?
