Interesting. Looks like the new MacBook is actually worth the money.
You apple users are so gullible.
For that matter, a few weeks ago, I purchased the following system:

HP TX2Z Touch Tablet Laptop for $599 (after $400 worth of coupons -- which can be found on a regular basis)
My configuration came out to:
$599
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-75 2.2GHz
3GB DDR2

Indeed.
To sweeten the deal even more, my HP order was delayed for a week (presumably due to high demand for this unit) so what did they do?
They reimbursed me by giving me a $50 coupon to be applied towards a future purchase.

Speak for yourself though. When I buy a mac, it’s usually 30% off (through my own “contacts”) My MBP came to only 1499 after tax. It was merely pointing out this article. I was *interesting* to note.
Please, everyone I know that have bought an HP has had issues. Wireless issues (three of my friend’s HP laptops wireless simply broke, took them 2 weeks to repair), very flakey screens (Friend’s...

You quote that $1499 price as if it's commendable.
And yes, I know you said...
WFTW, you're quickly becoming one of my new favourite zealots here.
If you're going to make comparisons, make "apples to apples" comparisons. Don't quote 15.6" laptops compared to smaller and typically more expensive laptops. Don't make asinine assumptions that anyone who wants a laptop smaller than 15" MUST be looking at netbooks. And don't compare MSRP vs your highly shopped sale price...

And on top of that I can install a second battery on...

the whole case is basically a heatsink. And yes, through the speaker holes...you know..the TOP of the case. sine hear RISES. So heatsink + top vent vs: no heatsink + side or bottom vent Mac wins for heat displacement. Hence, their laptops usually last a fair bit longer. If I were ever to get a power laptop, it would be a macbook. Of course, I'd be installing windows7 on it, since I'm a gamer AND a graphic artist. and the only mac...
