It's been one year this week since Sirius gutted the remains of XM's Decades channels, wiping out hit songs left and right. Since that time, about 20 percent of the songs that Zellner, Blatter and Greenstein deleted have been restored.
Unfortunately, these hits are among the missing 80 percent:

On the other hand, I was a huge fan of ONJ. Sure, she recorded some stinkers, and some of them get frequent airplay on the 70's channel. This # 1 hit is among her best. Well produced, takes you back to a place and time. Still sounds great on the ol' stereo. But it's one of many # 1 songs from the early ...
I never got the meaning of "Rain Dance" either, but I sure enjoyed hearing, and seeing it again just now. Man, that is a good-sounding song. Anybody else remember "Star Baby" by the Guess Who? And "Albert Flasher?" They weren't top 10 so you'll never hear them on Sirius, but they're good too.
Seems like the only Olivia song I ever hear is "Have You Never Been Mellow." I don't think Sirius 7 even plays "I Honestly Love You."
And how about "If Not For You"? That was her first hit. Since it was written by Bob Dylan, you'd think they would be all over it.

I just got through trying to listen to the 80's channel. Prince. Duran Duran. U2. Clash. Ho hum. Why bother?
A little Steel Breeze, and a lot of other overlooked songs, would be a welcome addition to a really boring channel.

No Howard Jones?

Well, with one year down the tubes, it is pretty clear what we're stuck with. They've settled into their Sirius rut, and to quote every athlete I've ever seen on TV, "it is what it is." I would love to see a survey on the percentage of former XM customers who believe they're getting screwed since the "merger." I'm definitely one of them.

OK, the Guess Who scored 14 top 40 hits, & SiriusXM plays 11 of them, some on the 60s channel, some on the 70s, some on Classic Vinyl, and some on Iceberg. Not played lately are Albert Flasher, Dancin Fool, and Star Baby. My local radio plays 3 of them. 14 out of 14 would be nice...but hey I'm not eatting dog food.
Good news!! Steel Breeze was a lost 80's hit that was played yesterday on 80's at 8. There is hope yet. If you like lost hits, combined with a large playlist, then check out my thread here. http://www.xmfan.com/viewtopic.php?t=106289
I hear them when I put on my Guess Who Anthology disc - but other than These Eyes, No Time, American Woman, and a couple of others, you won't hear much Guess Who on SXM any more.
