They have already failed? Blu-ray sales have been going up every year and they are becoming cheaper. I work at a retailer which sells movies and games. Even I noticed how the dvd sections are getting smaller and the blu-ray movies are now getting more shelf space. The promotion of HD content is doing pretty well with HD tv's. Also while internet is an option to watch movies, Most people ...

Points we've heard time and time again, points that are irrelevent when Blu-ray players continue to sell, Blu-ray disc sales are up year on year and more and more movies are being released on the format. There's only one way to get true HD and it's not via download.

TheMART at Xboxkings PirateThom Streaming and downloads don't work, internet too slow, caps in place. Blu-ray works. Every have access to it. Digital downloads are a pipe dream that only have limited userbases. Wrong. MS's 1080p service on 360 already works on 5Mbit. The Netherlands normal broadband these days is 20Mbit for 20 Euro. Plus, I still remember I was surfing the net in 1997 to 1999 on my 56k6 telephonemodem. An MP3 took...

I didn't say the blu-ray section is bigger than dvd. I said that retailers are giving blu-ray more and more shelve space compared to what there was. Trust me I spend an overnight rearranging all of those damn movies. omg I'm done arguing it is clear that you believe what you want to believe. You have your own opinion.

Lol oh well, all this has turned into is a mud flinging contest anyway and has gotten out of hand. But also, keep in mind this article originated sometime in 2006 even though it was edited with some footnotes briefly (see my last post). So it doesn't take into account all of the progression so far. Even if it would be against blu-ray's progression. <message edited by snoop_dizzle on Sunday, August 30, 2009 2:53 PM>

the author can be as right as he can with HD formats small failures. But No matter what you think or do, there is no stopping proggress once it's begun. especially if it's something that betters what it's predeccesors did. from cassettes to CDs to DvDs and now bluray/HDformat w/e In the end your issues with this will be insignificant as everyone else in the future will adapt.
