Rule of thumb for tire pressure monitering system
if the light is on steady set tire pressure and drive over 30 mph.
if the light flashes there is a problem and will have to be serviced.

I get the message "Tire Pressure Monitor Failure" when starting my 2009 Focus. The warning light blinks and then stays on. Tire pressure has been checked. Is there a procedure to reset it? or recalibrate it? Is there a bigger underlying issue?

Gommee, if you have a 2009, chances are you're still in warranty. Hop into the dealer for a check of the system! It *should* be covered if you're still in your miles....

I am still nder warranty, but my dealer is a long ways away and it is a
pain to go there for a small issue. I will get it looked at when I get my
scheduled maintenance.
