My Dad bought an 06' Tundra 2wd and he wants to make it have a more lvl stance.
He bought a procomp 3" leveling kit from a place called "Fat Bob's" or something.
It arrived yesterday but the spacer things are only 1 1/2 inches.
Thats not big enough to do anything.
WHen I was looking at them it looks really cheap and not very strong.
Anyways, my question ...
Car is back in action!
It turned out to be the wrong code after all.I found the 15 GM codes on line and hooked an old cb volume control into the vats connector that goes to the anti theft module. The volume control is a variable resistor and through trail and error the car starts and drives on code 6 not code 5 like the dealer claims GM told them it was......I wish I could prove their neglegence...
I just took my 94 grand apart to fix an exhaust leak. I hooked everything back up to include the battery. Now it flashes security and will not stay running. It starts and then dies right away. How do I bypass and or re-set this so I can drive???? Please help, I tried touching the cables together and also turning the key on/off multiple times.
And a little update: I verified there are 4 wires and associated terminals at the ign. switch. Fat red, clean 12V power, no continuity to ground with the battery disconnected and no longer connected to the ign. switch. Fat Black, good clean ground, continuity and no resistance. The other 2 must be outputs from the switch, a smaller black and a black w/ red stripe. 1 must be to starter ...
Allright, I'm going to bite the bullet and admit that although I USED to be a proffessional mechanic, I seem to have lost a lot of mechanical "instinct" since brain surgery. S. here's the prblem, hopefully there's a straight solution to it:
1984 Opel something, basically like a '84 Chevy Cavalier or the like (hey, I live in Finland, this is the crap they drive). Owner is a young woman with ...
Wow, that looks almost like my 86 that I dropped a 5.7 Vortec into. It's been a 2 year project but it's almost done now.
What did you use for PS hoses? How about AC hoses?
For info on my XJ, just Google PalmerXJ

You're example sounds like it comes from a '50's era movie. I was thinking the same thing.......I had a picture in my mind of John Candy or Chevy Chase driving a wood grain wagon from the late 70s with a trailer in tow.
I love when you get into an argument with the guys in a tire place about torque. 'It's a hundred pounds'. No it's not, I want them at 75. 'Well, you're going to have to sign this waiver'. No, why don't you look up the specs. Then they grab the TorkStix!!! Around the end of the summer, I took my '96 to a shop that everyone I work with recommended as The Best. He balanced all four- they were off the...
the cam is an E303 so it's pretty mild. My dad said it was clearing it. It's worth looking at again. If you can think of anything else let me know aswell
There is a TSB out there about the needles of the speedo and tach getting on the wrong side of the needle stop, causing them not to work. Says it is caused by low battery/jump starting. Can be resolved by gauge needle sweep test. Check to make sure the needles are resting above the stops when the iginition is off. If not that, it could be the connector on the back of the instrument cluster, the TJs are known to have problems with them but...
One other thing I found is a common problem on WJs that I had to tackle this past weekend. If you are getting an emissions leak, either small or large code, check the hoses in the rear left bumper where the charcoal canister is. We had the codes for a while and I finally found that the 3/8" rubber hose going from the hard line to the charcoal canister was cracking on both ends. Replaced it, cleared the codes and it has been fine...
1. There is a meeting with management and the artsy-fartsy team--the concept is provided. 2. Pictures are drawn. 3. Second meeting with management and the artsy-fartsy team--provisional go-ahead is given. 4. Clay models are made. 5. Third meeting with management and the artsy-fartsy team--clay model is approved. 6. Meeting with management and the engineers--"There it is, make the crap fit in it." Simplified version, but true....
