Some feel it’s a healthy habit. 2) Some people feel there are too many cigarette butts littering the beaches. 3) Some people feel their freedom is paramount and comes with limitless boundaries ...

Judged: 1 1 1 As a resident of Redondo Beach, it's an embarassment that this is the only city in the area that still permits smoking on the beach. The arguments posted above about flatulence and crossing the street being equally risky or offensive are fairly absurd. Smoking is not a natural bodily function. It is a choice, and an addictive one at that. The issue isn't even ...

The Enforcer wrote: A smoker's rights end at the tip of a non-smoker's nose. Strict non-smoking laws should be enacted, enforced and violators should be imprisoned. That will end the smoking-in-your-face issue. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I still smoke in bars where I live and if you come into any bars that still permit smoking then your nose will experience SHS. BTW, it's not smokers ...

Judged: 1 1 1 Oh Rich, you have bought all the present arguments for social control. I bet there are still butts on the beaches of those cities who have banned smoking. As for health issues, the same arguments could be made about air travel in general and vacation travel specifically. Or how about the fact we all live down-wind from China, probably the greatest air polluter ...

It is absurd that Redondo does not ban smoking on the beaches. All other local beaches do so. The arguments concerning litter are accurate, as the countless butts found along the sand and the bike path did not get there from other communities. They were dropped by thoughtless smokers. Sadly, I failed to read any argument concerning people's health, in particular the issue of second-hand smoke. I...

Rich, just what is your crutch in life, or are you perfect? If people were given the choice to go to a bar or whatever that allowed smoking vs. one that didn't allow it I would say that was fair. But to say we don't have that choice is taking away my rights.

In the Hermosa Beach apartment building at 957 First Street residents stand in their doorways exhaling their cigarette smoke that the daily breeze carries into the open windows of adjoining apartments. Babcock Associates Management Company allows this unhealthy habit. The alcoholics living there believe that, if they exercise and eat liver and onions, the constant intake...
