Direct patient care was done by nurses, whether it be by RNs or LPNs. We had a few nurses aides that helped us with linen changes, feedings, transports, going for things when we needed them to, taking things to the lab, etc. Anything that required something techincal was done by a licensed person. The whole health care system with the "hours worked" is just insane. How is it that truck drivers have limits on how long they can work without sleep, but nurses and doctors (particularly residents) do not?
