Just checked 4 Bars Rest preview of the Third section, which has me down to conduct McTaggarts ; I'm not - we've had a bit of bother getting basses in, and have asked approximately 20 players to help out to no avail, so the 21st and probably the last resort is yours truly! We're only playing 1 EEb and 1 BBb Bass on Sat, doesnt really bother me, we think the piece actually suits 2 basses. Its not a big blow for the bass end and the part isnt the hardest I seen for an area test piece! Although we've filled up the 2 extra spaces and using two 2nd baris and two 2nd trombones to give the youngsters a go, may as well fill the seats! Good luck to everybody on Sat and ...

Well done to all the winners of the sections over the weekend especailly the Co and Dalmellington! Was going to travel thru yest but the road was blocked with snow and prob wouldnt have been fit to drive after Sat nite!

Important Notice to BANDS COMPETEING IN SCOTLAND AREA 3rd Section I noticed last night on 4bars rest that our conductor DAVID HUTCHINSON was listed as the conductor of RENFREW BURGH in the 3rd Section. This is a mistake by 4Bars Rest , i have contacted Iwan Fox and he as taken off DAVID HUTCHISON'S Photo. DAVID HUTCHINSON will be conducting GRESLEY OLD HALL BAND in the 1st Section Midland Area on SATURDAY 11th March not as stated RENFREW...
