I'm totally infatuated w/ the Nokia E-71. For those of you who have used both WM and S60, would I want to eat a bullet going from WM to S60?

love my N95 8GB and loved the N95-3. great multimedia device with a pretty good web browsing experience. just always found it easier to organize with wm better. easier exchange server experience. im also big on texting and emailing so the t9 cant cut it for me on my N95 for an everyday phone.

I'm also willing to consider the E71 if the price is right. I used to have an N95-8 and it was great, but ended up selling it because it was an Europe 3G version and I didn't do my homework before the purchase... But I will not leave the WM arena at all, I just want a second phone for those times when I get bored of WM...

It's different. You lose the larger application library as well as the level of customization, but S60 feels more like a phone first and is overall simpler to maintain. Just make sure S60 has the software equivalents to what you need. I may even pick up the E71-2 myself.

Thanks for the opinions. What's to lose, it's not like I seem to keep a device for more than 6 months anyway.

i just purchased a e71-2. really wanted to spring for the Omnia, but its just not worth it for no 3G. my n95 lacks a qwerty, so maybe the e71 will make me happy...we will see. btw purchased from CTI Miami..

I am currently Windows Mobile-less as I have a UIQ device and the E71. I am comfortable with the E71 because I plan on ditching my E71 device for a new windows device down the road. I think JwY said it best, although for all the knock it takes, WM still has some great touches to the phone experience that even the "smartphone leader of the world", Symbian/S60 could learn ...

I had before a Touch, and then recently a N95. Decided to sell my n95 after about 1-2 months of usage as I couldn't really enjoy the UI. I find S60 is more of a simpler interface for more mainstream consumers, however WMo's are for more advanced users. Just my opinion though, WMO suits my needs more. (Also a lack of a keyboard really bothered me, as I couldn't stand ...
