They are just dumb, fight the P2P (yes, the unencrypted, plain-text, P2P) for copyright reasons is dumb! Why? because all people will switch to dark-net (like freenet, mute, etc...) and then all people will continue to share their copyrighted files just like before!!! The main difference will be that pedophiles, terrorists (the real terrorists not all the fake terrorists, like those you see on ...

Sounds like privacy infringement to me. There is no way to stop the sharing of files on the net. It's too wide spread.

Well that deal is in UK. I doubt it would fly here in the US. To many people would cry foul. Privacy invasion. I did read the post correctly Leigh. At least I though I did. Sorry.

They say the Net is anonymous, but in reality they are not anonymous. When you get on Internet you get an IP from your ISP, and they record that information (for obvious reasons). You visit any website your IP is recorded in the website, you use P2P software your IP is known to other peers, if any of your actions are not approved by authorities expect them to contact your ISP with the IP ...

I know. I was just giving you a hard time. But the point was that governments and ISP's really couldn't care less about this "pirating" thing. Most ISP's realize that interfering with these things is counter-productive and will cost them in the long run. Most people like their perceived freedom on the web and most people really don't need the "Premium Package" just to do a ...

Actually, when you think of it--if people weren't so greedy/selfish/silly, we the people could probably get rid of DRM and all that by simply boycotting all of it till they dropped it, only buying Indie music and the like. It will never happen unfortunately. Led Zepplin.... I remember seeing them at the Central Park concerts back in '68. Tickets were $1.00 and $1.50. This was the Schaeffer Beer festival (I think it's the Dr....
