Ok, this is what is called an uncontrolled experiment. At 7 PM CDT on 9/30/08 everyone start boiling your eggs. I presume that the 12 minute time begins after the water reaches a boil not from the time you put the pan on the stove. Boil two eggs in the same pot at the same time. I did it . It worked for me. Knocked my lil stained glass shamrock off its holder. Rule #1. Dont aim at a closed glass window with a decoration on it. I cant wait for easter.

I conducted the experiment last night - it did not work. I suspect that the egg needs to be very cold but not frozen for it to work. My rationale is that when the egg is cold, it will shrink slightly but remain plastic enough to squeeze through the opening in the shell. The egg shell being rigid will not shrink. I'm sticking with the tried and true method - crack the egg shell all around and peel the shell away. Hard-boiled eggs go well...
