Check out Ibex Asta, they are very sweer bikes. The Asta is a very solid XC bike with no flex & pure traction. From XC to AM & the mild DH the Asta it pure bike that can make you look like a pro with it's gracefull abilitys. I have been putting the Asta through DH & AM rigors & it just smiles, very awsome bike. http://www.ibexbikes.com/Bikes/ASTA-PRO-Details.ht ml

I belive the Asta is about 27lbs. It is considered a XC bike. My regular bike is a Versus Blitz weighing 39lbs & 6in travel. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=204057

Here is a link to the lightest full suspension production bicycle I've come across at that price. I don't have experience with the (on-line) seller nor the bike. Thanks for all the advise. Does anyone know the head angle of the Apache? I know XC bikes have steeper HA's, but I prefer a slacker angle if possible. Would it be possible to run with a 120mm fork on the Apache?

Santa Cruz Superlight bro. If you are not on the clydesdale side, it will do fine. If you are it can be flexy so check out the Heckler maybe. Or have you looked around for a used Yeti ASR
