Finally saw it last night, and it was decently good with some quirky parts. Firm acting (curious interpretation of Doc Holliday by Kilmer though), well done sets/costumes, some glorious landscape shots, authentic fighting scenes, and a superb score by Bruce Broughton (his best arguably, better than his Academy Award nominated Silverado).

Yes it's a fantastic western. I can remember I really enjoyed that movie in the theatre. IMO also Kurt Russel as Wyatt Earp is perfect. I always liked Tombstone more than Costners Wyatt Earp. "Well, nobody's perfect."

Russell, Paxton and Kilmer all have a legendary gaze, as if they know they are walking into history. Only Sam Elliott is in the moment -- looking mad enough to blow those Clanton and McLaury "muthas" into kingdom come. "I've been beaten up but I'm not ...

Yep Miss Paddy, ya don't wanna mess with Sam -- even if he's only carrying Doc's cane! "I've been beaten up but I'm not beaten, and I'm not quitting"

Great film. A lot of action. But I didn't like the river showdown all that much.
