I have no idea if it is vintage or not, and I wanted to make sure it is not a fake. Here is a picture: Notice how the tags are not straight on top of each other, and there is no alligator on the outside. Do all Izod Lacoste's have the alligator? The RN number says 21008, which is like Crystal Brands, Inc. ??? Any help would be awesome!! Thank you! Andrea

Hmm, this is probably a silly question, but did you check the cuffs? Sometimes they put the alligators there, or near the hem, and towards the end of the agreement between Izod and Lacoste, they even started making the alligators solid color to match the garment, so they got even harder to see. Do you have any close-up shots of the labels? It's hard to say whether or not it's genuine without a ...

I would say a real deal. I sold a polyester dress from early 80s, and I believe it was a David Crystal. If the RN is showing Crystal then I would have to think it's authentic.

Crystal Brands includes Izod, which was partnered with Lacoste at the time, so that sounds legit. From the look of the label, I would say your jacket is authentic, and most likely later 80's, right before the two brands dissolved their partnership. The golf balls are cute!

Oh, meant to add that every once in a while, I come across a NOS piece of Izod or David Crystal Lacoste with an "optional" gator; it came in a separate package and could simply be ironed and/or stitched on if you wanted it. Maybe that's what happened here...?

So would it be considered vintage then? It is a Womens Jacket, so I doubt it will sell real great, but I would love to sell it if I can. Any keywords besided Golf Balls would be appreciated. Thanks! Andrea

Hmm, yes, I would say mid-later 80's is technically vintage - at any rate, I think that's most likely your target buyer and the one most likely to be interested in it. For KWs, I would of course use the brand...maybe "preppy"? Novelty print works well sometimes, too. Sorry I'm not more help, but I quit using Sellathon, so I'm not as up on KW success as I used to be.
