I think I found the cause of my problem. I was using the Mark In and Mark Out buttons that were located on the right side of the time line. After I used the buttons located under the Input window everything seemed to fall into place. I did burn a DVD-R and it works!! The Audio_TS folder isn't really necessary. Certain players and software look for the folder, so it sometimes helps with compatibility and doesn't hurt anything to include it. You can burn an mpeg file to disk, but just as data. It won't play in most dvd players the way you intend. There is a trim cut button on the right pane and I use the slider under the picture to mark the beginning and end of what I want to remove.
