are these views supported and acted upon? No. I had an honor killing right down the road in Los Colinas(Dallas). Two beautiful girls cut down in their youth for of all things, dating. And the father fled to his home country where he is safe. You'd be hard pressed to find a Christian equivalent here.

Several hundred years ago Christian nations practiced the "rule of thumb" that allowed a man to beat his wife as long as the stick was no bigger than his thumb. Little by little that went by the wayside--it was tolerated less and less and restricted more and more in its application.

I fully agree with her that wife-beating is wrong; however, believing this, I don't understand why she chooses to remain a cleric of a religion whose holy book explicitly encourages it.
