Is there a difference between the quality of the fender american vintage trem block that comes on vintage styled fender instruments such as a John Mayer sig or a SRV sig vs the mexican vintage trem block that comes on standard mexican strats etc?

The trem is much, much better and more stable on the MIA Stratocasters.

I think I mean more in terms of the size of the trem block MIA vs MIM guitars but specifically in terms of the vintage tremolo set up...think mexican standard strat trem block vs john mayer sig strat trem block. Both are the vintage trem set up but is the john mayer trem block thicker just because its an MIA guitar?

Whoops! Sorry man I guess I skimmed over your post too quickly. I would imagine there's a difference, if not in size than in quality of metals. But I'm not sure, maybe someone can confirm that.

I just disassembled a Mexi last night. The block is thinner than my American but, I don't think it makes a hill of beans difference in the overall sound.
