Been asked to start a set (early) this weekend in my local bar/restaurant, but everyones still gonna be sat down eatting, for the first couple of hours... Im guessing im just gonna play some pretty relaxed latino funky stuff but im starting too sweat a little about it, whats the normal ettiqutte to play while people are sat around eatting....? im thinking i might just put a ...

yeah just keep it light and cruisy, nothing too in your face plus don't let the volume get too loud! you could go down the chill out avenue, try some latin stuff, maybe some slower deep house around 122 bpm ministry of sound cd could be another option too lol if everyone is havig dinner not too many people will be paying close attention? It could also be an opportunity to play some more...

problem with playing a mix cd with cdj's is that at the end of each track it will stop and you will have to quickly press play again to keep it goin = wont sound good unless they have a seperate cd player to use

^^^... you can make cdjs just keep playing without having to click the play button after each track.

I play to ppl eating pretty much every week. Do what Marksound and Nick Vidal said, although I reckon 122 BPM is a bit quick. Don't worry about mixing too much and keep the vol down. Also, go to your local op-shop and get some James Last sax-a-go-go records to start off with.

I love playing this sort of stuff when I get the chance. We had a work corporate cocktail party recently so I was designated to put the music together, I did a 4 CD mix of Nu-Jazz Groove type stuff, from that function I had to run off another 5 copies cause people there wanted for their functions. Had all sorts of stuff like Llorca, Glen Underground, Solar House, Physics, etc...I'm sure you get the picture.
