finally got around to reading the Mad Hatter issue, man I love Paul dini's work. He's today's best Batman writer. Good read, fun, didn't lag. This is how Batman should be too, the writing in that series has been meh. Detective's the Best Batman comic out there. I read BATMAN and it's like well this is kinda' weak or crappy, but Detective is about as good as when I started steadily ...

I'm not sure, but I remember in her first appearance either Scarface or her mentioned that she had been dead once before (or something like that, probably metaphorically) and Batman noted that something about her seemed familiar. I'm guessing maybe an old, obscure character, if anyone.

I thought the new Venquilotrist was that blonde chick? Dini wrote her in that Harley issue. Did something happen to her? Sick of Zatanna. I never liked her and I don't know why she's crowding one of the best comics on the rack. She looks stupid with that hat.

Zatanna is Dini's favorite DC character...they mention it a few times on the Batman: TAS commentary.

I think Dini just ignored RIP's story and focused on his own. This helped the story out a lot in the end, IMO.

The best part of the issue was Joker watching as Batman tortured Crane. "I must say, I enjoy watching you work," and "Johnny, what did you DO?" were the best lines from the whole comic.

Nguyen doing 24 issues....with Dini still as writer? that's awesome. Two years of this! The last issue, like Slay Ride, is an instant classic as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't stop smirking. Batman being a board douche to all the other amateur detectives . And Dini's really doing a service to the Riddler too

The new preview for 850 is up: http://community.livejournal.com/sca...y/6559932.html Gotta say I'm totally looking forward to this. Alfred kicking serious butt and a nice Mr.Freeze mention too. But mostly Alfred, we all know he runs the sh** in the DC universe. (Sorry about the language)

I don't know when it first appeared but we just seen him build it now and then, its just a collection of his trophies or sum. But now we see it also had a defense system and that it actually moved and stuff.

Brilliant conclusion to this storyline. The best thing to come out of this lousy R.I.P. storyline. I only wish Hush had died. I think they've done all they can do with the character now. His death in this arc would have been a fitting closure to him. But you just know someone will bring him back with another scheme to infiltrate Bruce's life, and another b*tching session from Tommy about how Bruce screwed him over.
