Engadget on Europen 3G Penetration Please read this article and see that for Europe where cellular penetration is typically 100% or higher and the US is barely to 87% that they don't even care about 3G as much as the US. And the majority of the phones that are sold here for 3G suck compared to the lineup they have in Europe, but 'everyone' has to have it... These 3G threads...

Tell ya what... Give me EDGE with 592kbps and i wouldn't give 3G a second thought! If T-Mobile's Edge was half that, I would'nt waste money on 3G but when i average 98 kbps, I feel like a wet dirty food stamp. I have apps on my phone I can't run do to the slowness of Edge. I just want faster speeds. Don't really care what it is.

I would be happy if t-mobile gave me reliable 175kbps edge let alone 500kbps! Streaming orb.com over 90kbps just sucks compared to what my mobile phone is capable of!

Quit making 3G smaller than it is and making excuses for T-Mobile's abysmal data network reliability and speeds. Yes, it's something we have to live with as part of the deal of being with T-Mobile but that doesn't mean that we have the right to feel that T-Mobile should try harder.

umm what exactly is "europe" comprised of? because typically i think and refer to specifically england and london etc when comparing 3G use and penetration. all of europe includes a lot of countries, and they all might not be as developed as england. i'm just saying i dont know what these numbers mean... so now let me go read the article lmao

3G penetrates better in Asian cities (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Korea) but China is pretty poor with TD-SCDMA 2000
