Having the death toll come down would be good, but when push comes to shove, and if the deaths are more connected to being heavily drugged than sober--I'd rather the bad guys get killed than the officers.

Its interesting i guess tasers are not as safe as they say, with the death toll rising each month from tasers. I guess the question is should an officer tackle a person resisting arrest to the ground or taser him. There seems to be a lot of cases being taken to court over excessive use of force when useing a taser, but i'm not sure how this compares to other excessive use of force cases.

It can go a couple of ways. 1. The office can let the person go and risk the suspect doing the same crime again. 2. The suspect. resist arrest grabs the officers gun and kills him. 3. The suspect could have a gun and start shooting, or he could use anything to try and harm the officer. 4. The officer could use his hand gun and return fire possibly killing the suspect. 5. The officer can use his Taser Gun and attempt to subdue the suspect....

Recently found an article from Taser International Inc. who maintains that its stun-guns are "changing the world and saving lives everyday." and are great alternative to guns.
