EMule works just fine in Vista right up until I ask it to quit. At that moment it just freezes and nothing I do will make it quit or bring it back to life. The only thing I can do at that point is to re-boot the computer and most of the time, the only way to do that is to pull the plug out of the wall - restart from the Windows start menu does nothing! The "half open connections" thingy is ...

Could be . Have you tried disabling it temporarily to see if it changes anything? Make sure none if its processes are running in the background.

Tried that but doesn't seem to affect it at all. Vista performance now cites eMule as stopping Vista shutting down. I'm not really sure where to go from here! Homey
