UofT Course selection messed up | Thread profile

So has this happened to anyone, you were given a start time on ROSI (mine was 9:40) by the time I logged on which was approximately 9:41, all the courses which I needed were all full with at least 40 people on the waiting list. Is this even fair? Now I can't even get in since 3 courses are full . Some system they have there...

that really sucked! I did mine exactly at the start time, and finished within 1 min (All thanks to copy and paste which saved me a lot of time). but yea, spaces do go fast!

lol I'd consider it normal... I think you can talk to your program faculty and if they too think you absolutely need those courses to graduate they will insert you into one of the sections I believe... But yea do lineup in the backup list just in case, there'll be many ppl dropping the courses even b4 the school starts...

Which is why you will feel so good once you're in 4th year and you have the earliest start date and time.

I especially hate the fact that you can't waitlist more than a total of 1.0 FCEs per semester...that's dumb considering my start time was late and there were no more spaces left!!!

3 of my courses were full and as someone mentoined you can ONLY wait list 1 FCE, so I am still out of one course. This is the type of system I get for paying 11k a year.

The reason you can only waitlist 1.0 FCE is because given the option, the people before you would have waitlisted many more which would have made you even more pissed off. The waitlist is new; before you never had the option at all. Lots of people shuffle courses before the add/drop deadline; just keep checking.

it is messed. I've been doing this for 3 years now and all at about 1pm. Real bad time by then. Most of the courses I really want are full. Thats why I picked programs with a bigger list of priorities for more courses so I don't locked up into only a few courses with priority. The key is to make many schedules with the first one as your favourite and to find other courses ...
