Alot of clubs now ue the rubber db and plates as opposed to the old fashioned iron ones. I swear the rubber just doesnt feel the same is iron. The weight is exactly correct but the feeling just isnt right. Am i wrong, am i the only one who thinks this?

I don't notice a difference, weight is weight to me? Good quality barbell and I don't know how one could tell any difference if the weight is the same?

my gym switched to rubber dumb bells. Thing I do not like about them is that they are bigger in size. So when I am doing dumb bell curls I have to hold them slightly out to the sides to avoid hitting my legs on the way up and down. I start getting some what of a side delt pump which makes it harder to focus on the biceps

SA, this is happening to a lot of the gym around here also. To make matters worse, these plates are octagon shaped! Makes deadlifting kind of strange. I really dont care for rubber plates, I'm more for the traditonal steel.
