Man my house dog has the worst breath i've ever smelled and I think he's going to kill somebody with that horrible stench. Namely, Me. What do you guys do for your dogs with the worst breath. I mean the "worst". It's so bad, damn can't you smell it? I'm serious. I know you're probably laughing at this but I'm in need of a fix, a remedy, a cure, whatever. This dog is about to get kicked ...

Shave the other end and make him walk backwards? Or maybe the problem is that he already walks backwards? _________________ Mechanical Engineers build weapons, Civil Engineers build targets. (Don't remember who, but he was right on target!) Clyde

There are green dog bones called "greenies" that have chlorophyll in them... it helps the bad breath a lot. What are you feeding? Diet can have a big impact on breath.

How old is he? Seven yrs+ I'd bet. Sounds like his teeth need to be cleaned. Up here it cost about four hundred bucks to put them under and do a complete job.

Bad breath in dogs has similar causes to that in humans; poor diet, constipation and poor dental hygiene. You can experiment with his feed to eliminate the first two. For the choppers ... check his mouth for soft and bleeding gums and plaque on the teeth. With heavy plaque you can just pick it off with a thumb nail, a weirdly satisfying job. Use a canine tooth paste from time to ...

I try to brush my dog's teeth about two or three times a week (although I have been remiss lately). I have a tube of poultry flavored toothpaste - no need to taste it yourself, it's nasty. He doesn't have really bad breath anyway but it does make an improvement. John

Take your dog to the vet and have his mouth checked out. Most cases of really bad breath are dental in origin, so expect to get the teeth cleaned and the dead ones extracted. To maintain your dogs teeth afterwards, you can give him a raw beef soup bone (knuckle bone) about every other month. The veterinary community has split opinion on using raw bones for teeth cleaning; some vets love it ...
