I wanted to get my husband some HT as a Christmas present and want to take advantage of Black Friday deals. At this point I have read these forums for days and feel like vomiting from the pressure of it all! I think I will get a Denon 1909 or Onkyo 606 AVR (leaning towards the Denon). From what I can gather in these forums SVSound and AV123 are having good deals on speakers as well as KEF ...

If you dont mind buying internet direct check out the specials at av123.com or swan speakers from theaudioinsider or ozhometheater. Aperion, Ascend, Axiom are other good internet direct brands. For subwoofer you can look at SVS, Hsu, EPik or the MFW-15 from av123. Check for the av123 specials here http://av123.com/component/page,shop...k,1/Itemid, 37/ The Black Friday deals are here ...

You are on the right track. Now you just need to jump on a deal. Which deal? Hard to say. KEFs at onecall.com and vanns.com are very good. The Deals at AV123.com is very good as well. Chances are you'll be happy with either one. AV123.com have some good deals on both speakers and subwoofer. The MFW 15 is a great, great subwoofer for the price they are selling today. But those ...

This is very helpful. So my options are: Aperion 5Ts, 5C and 5DBs for $2030 AV123: ELT 525Ts, 525C and 525Ms for $868 -or- Rocket RS850s, RSC200 and RS450s for $1950 -or- 5 X-CSs for $795 KEF: iQ9s, iQ6, and iQ3s for $1360 Can someone please rank these for me in terms of quality? It seems like the Rockets are the best deal- are they the best speakers in this group? I can wait...

Whats the budget? For HT mostly but still good with music http://www.ascendacoustics.com/ has a sale. I would get 340se fronts and 200se surrounds. A Rythmik sub or get a Pb12nsd from Svs. Or look a the Svs speaker packages also. I thing Ascends sound better in the same price point but they are pretty close. The Rockets are a good deal but you didn't post you budget. Don't know how long the ...

The marantz will be at least as good as the Denon or the Onkyo (I wouldn't worry to much between those - they all get good reviews); They will all power any of the speakers you are looking at just fine. I terms of listing the speaker packages: 1. Rocket package 2. Aperion package 3. Elt package 4. KEFs Note that I have not heard the KEFs (just going by general ...

I don't have a budget but don't want to spend more than I will need- we use it mostly for TV shows and sports, about 30% movies and music never. I checked the price on the Ascends- the set would cost me $978, the Sierra set $1958 I prefer a wood veneer finish but could live with black if the speakers are better. I can afford any of these options, just want to get the best bang for my buck....

I tried to call AV123 but their offices just closed. Anyway, I placed the order for the rocket series with 525 rear surrounds and the MFW 15 sub. I think I will try to get the Onkyo 805 soon. I'm sure to most of you it sounds crazy to buy this stuff after only a few days of research and without listening to any speakers but I trust the judgement of the posters here. Thanks very much to everyone for their time. I'm sure I'll be...

I got the ELT525M as my rears as well to complete my 7.1 system. Most preferred the Onkyo 805 over the Onkyo 806. There was a post in a different forum asking that question and most felt that the newer model (806) was actually a downgrade compare to the (805). Before taking that order from AV123, ask their Rep to see what the wait time on these Rockets. It is made and ship from overseas. There have been instances where it took longer than...

Out of those deals, the Rockets are the best deal. The RSC200 is a VERY well reviewed center and the 850 fronts are very well reviewed as well. The Ascends and the Aperions are have a large following on this forum as well. I would drop the KEFs from the comparison, they belong with the ELTs, and X-CSs and the lower priced Ascends. Bottom line is you will be very happy with any of the packages you just listed. The Aperions and the Rockets have...
