I bought a used Ruger Red Label 12 Gauge with supposedly only 250 rounds fired through it. The gun was new in 2004. The gun was in mint condition at the store. On my first outing the darn ejectors only work periodically and now I get home today and found a small hairline crack on the forearm. Has anyone experienced similar issues with the Red Label? I thought this was a great gun and don't know ...

Ejectors ought to work all the time, unless they are bone dry. Somebody may have flushed all the grease out with Gun Scrubber or something similar, and never re-lubed them. Pull them, clean them, and put a light shot of gun grease in the grooves, as well as a light coat of oil on the springs. Check for galling when you have them out.... if they are starting to gall, ship it off to ...

Sorry to hear your trouble , I have an older RL made in 86. last year the bottom ejector stopped working so I sent it back to Ruger. I had to wait a while ( a bit over 3 months) but it came back fixed and basically brought back to new standards , a number of new internal parts, they reblued the barrels, refinished forearm ( where it had gotten a few marks over the years) a new box and owners...

I went through 3 new ones before I got that would function properly. My dealer would send them back and order a new one instead of having them fixed. He said they usually never have trouble with them but I'm not a fan. _________________ JESUS SAVES

On Target, I suggest that you send it to Ruger--when it comes back sell it immediately. NIB Rugers are an "iffy" proposition, a used one is usually for sale for a reason. When someone gets one that works, they usually like them and keep them. The trick is finding a new one worth keeping and falling in love with. _________________ I used to eat only natural food until I heard that most ...

I bet they do, too. My fourth RRL was a factory "demo", according to the dealer in Connecticut (StoneEagle Guns...highly recommend) who sold it to me. Both barrels shot way high. I sent it back to Ruger. They put new barrels on it, which now shoot perfectly. No charge, two weeks. They even paid for shipping. I have only good things to say about Ruger's Customer Service. ...

Ruger has been very good to me. One time they over-nighted me a brand new set of barrels when my barrels came back with a dent in my vent rib. I sent the barrels and receiver back and they had a new set of barrels on the gun and back to me the next day. You can't beat the service. Best in the business. Grade6man

Thanks everyone for your comments. I wrote Ruger's Service Department and I am waiting to hear back from them. I did not want to ship it and then end up with a bill. I am hoping they will repair the gun. Can someone please confirm that in Florida I can have the gun shipped back to my residence after a repair or will I need to receive it back through a FFL dealer. Thanks to all again. ...
