I looking for a 20ga pump for my hunting buddies son and I have a question. Are the 870 and BPS 20ga guns built on smaller size frames than the 12ga guns? Thanks _________________ Once you pull the pin Mr Grenade is no longer your friend.

I believe Remington's are....also check around for a older winchester 1200/1300 youth model 20 gauge. Bought one for my oldest when he was 12 and still use over 20 years later for the size challenged type folks when the family goes shooting. Built on a 12 frame but the forearm, stock and barrel are all sized down for a smaller reach. Decent gun if you can find one!

Mossberg has a deal that you can buy the youth gun then when they out grow it they give you a nice discount on a full size stock for it. _________________ Get ready here they come.... wait for em... wait... BANG BANG BANG. John you son of a B&*@#!!

mossberg makes a bantam 20 ga. pump that will grow with him because the stock has inserts to lengthen or shorten length of pull. i believe their sa 20 ga. auto comes in the same configuration.

Yes, the Remington 20 ga Youth model is definitely built on a smaller frame and with a shorter LOP. I have an 870 Youth Express which I use for duck hunting in cold weather when I need a heavy coat - with the shorter stock accomodating the extra bulk of the coat. Works a treat.
