Just recently put new Winn DSi V17 oversize soft grips on all my clubs and love the way they feel and play. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the best way to clean them - I never really bothered with cleaning grips before but I'd like to keep these in good shape as long as possible.... Thanks!

Thanks for correcting me PA - looks like my suggestion was a bad one, according to Winn. How can soap and water be bad for a grip? Oh yeah - they're Winns...

Exactly what is so bad about Winn's? I just installed some Winn PCI Hybrid oversized grips. They feel great, have plenty of tack & the look is killer.

Never clean a WINN grip with soap and water, it will remain (or feel that way) wet and slippery for days, and is almost undryable. Use rubbing alcohol as per instructions on the WINN site.

^^^ Have you tryed the Perma Wrap Plues? Their probably the cheapest grip you can get. I'm not a big fan of the Dual Density one but it gets the job done.

I actually use Winn Excel AVS grips on all my putters. They are relatively firm but have a soft surface and stay very tacky. So far I've had them for two seasons with no signs of wear yet so I'm happy. I have a pretty light grip on the putter so I don't expect them to wear much anyway. FWIW, this is the stuff I use to clean all my grips (after almost every round) including Winn grips: Golfsmith.com: Golfsmith Clubmaker Grip...

I'm anti-Winn. Soft, wear quickly and get dirty about 14 seconds after you install them. Call me old fashioned, but I like grips that aren't a fashion statement. To each their own, however. I just won't be regripping or cleaning my grips 5 times a year. R35
