Hello there. I've had Sky broadband for ages now - I got it when it was very much in its infancy - and I'm on the Max package, paying £10/month. After a number of issues to start with I installed a new faceplate with help from this forum and it's been great since then. I'm using Devolo 85Mbps homeplugs to connect to my router, which is running firmware V1.02.28. However, I've come back ...

there are a fair few errors on line, and you do not seem to be syncing at the best speed for your attenuation which would lead me to think you have a line problem. could you do a comparison set of stats from the "test" socket (see first link in my sig) and post back (p.s i also use the devolo 85 and think they are great)

I'm already using an XTE-2005 faceplate, will trying the test socket again make any difference?

its possible that there may be a problem with the face plate or the wiring, testing from the test socket will rule this out

Okay, I'll try that again tomorrow. Thinking back though I'm pretty sure ~4.5Mbps was the same via test socket or new faceplate. Thanks for the swift replies so far.

looking again at your stats, your line looks like its set at ADLS2 and is on fast, not sure if this is a router bug ? could you also use the mognuts utility to change your mode to GDMT and post some stats from this also (most recent mognuts utility is at bottom og my sig)

that does seem to show an improvement (but could also be down to the time of night) if you set it back to the original setting and do some more stats, then when you get a chance to do all the stats again from the test socket (it is still a bit strange that your setting was on ADSL2 which is not one of the normal setting and not GDMT or ADSL2+ which are the norm, but with your attenuation ...
