Not a lot to it but some development of Carl, but I assume this issue serves the purpose of bridging the last major story arc with whatever is coming next. I have to wonder why TWD issues are so *short* tho.

Hey the Kid showed some Moxey, Kirkman basically aired out the pro's and cons of Rick dying in the speech Carl gave. I say survival of the fittest, sorry Rick that's how it goes...Or in the immortal words of Snoop Doggy Dogg..."if the bitch can't swim, she's bound to drizzown.." And Rick looks like he's fiss'in to drizzown..

I think that Carl loves his dad and was trying to convince himself that he would be okay with out him when he was saying that he didn't need him anymore. I loved Carls rant about how Rick has failed to protect everyone. I enjoyed seeing the change in Carl as he realized he could look afterhimself and deal with the zombies.

hmmm, jury is still out for me. i realize that you can't really have the same expectations for an landmark issue fifty with a book like this, as opposed to say Invincible. so i guess if the "no one is safe" arc had landed on issue fifty it would have made it a little more climactic. i guess my problem with it was pages 15 and 16 and carls breakdown i guess. it was really awkward and it ...
