Yes good to see an American representing, Floyd has his chance to step outside Lance's shadow and I think he's going to give 150% to stay at the top. With his hip problem this may be his best opportunity to shine. Barring injury or a crash I think he will be on the podium.

I've been cheering for him since the begining. Yesterday's stage was amazing. Popovych has caught up now but he hasn't been looking too good in the mountains.

I'd love to see Floyd take the whole thing, but I don't expect it. He's got the legs and the race smarts to win, but he doesn't know how to be a sports celebrity. The TdF is a gigantic media circus, and if you're in the yellow jersey long enough, that will get inside your head. Lance knew how to handle it. He could jump off the bike 30 seconds after a mountain stage and give an interview that was...

Personally I like watching Floyd negotiate the media circus. No, he does not give them the prime time answers that they are looking for. But I don't think that is because he can't, but because he won't. He can be frustrating at times, but more often than not I find him to be refreshing. Nevertheless, winning the tour will obviously not be easy. T-mobile is a tough team, but I just can't see ...

Aw man, what happened today? Floyd just blew up. He got dropped and just got farther and farther behind so quickly. There's no way he can win anymore. This is a bummer.

Yeah, I'm really wishing I was wrong in my prediction. It looked like a bonk to me, which is kind of a newbie mistake. Eat Floyd, eat! On the plus side, the next few days are going to be awesome -- I don't see Pereiro holding off Evans, Kloden and Sastre, so once he goes, that leaves the others all within about a minute of each other. Batten yer hatches, it's time to attack!

When riders are going 8-10mph up mountains, does it really help that much to get on someones wheel? I'm thinking that it has to be just a matter of pacing and psychological boost. But, I have no idea how much drafting helps in these situations. It did look like Landis could have used a teamate on that last climb. Another question, when riders just slow way down like that, is it usually bonking ...
