My doc will supplement if the progesterone is under 15. Even though it can fluctuate a bit, progesterone is supposed to increase during PG, so a large drop, especially from 30 to 16.5, can indicate possible CL failure, which could mean that the progesterone could continue to decrease to dangerously low levels. My first progesterone was about 16, the second about 17, the 3rd about 16. I was very concerned when it dropped a bit, but my doc said...

This pregnancy I have had two progesterone checks, 1 week apart and they we 24.6 and 25.6. My Dr said it was great but for peace of mind (I have had 5 losses) she gave me prometrium, 100 mg 2x daily.
