I would immagine it would probably envolve damn near pulling the engine to get the heads off... Either way its not gonna be cheap I would almost say you would be money ahead (and for reliability's sake) to scrap that 2.5 and move at least to the 2.7 or maybe even newer those 2.5's tend to be a little more work then the other engines. Well, They took it to the dealer, and found out that it is a blown head gasket, i found head gaskets for $40 bux, but putting them on? how much would a mechanic charge, how hard is it? thanks (in reply to cmilam )

Hi If it is just a head gasket. That is not the end of the world. But remember the job starts with dropping the engine out. After that its just time and patience. If you have got a place under cover to keep the car while you are doing the work, then its a feasible "home" project, providing you are reasonably competent with using hand tools and carefully dismantling things and putting them ...

I always say it all depends on what your paying for the car... It the bottom line, after repairs is reasonable and repairs can correct the problem properly, then it's a good buy no matter whats wrong with the car.. A head gasket shouldn't be a deal breaker.
